Delhi - Leh - Khardongla Pass - Leh - Pangong Lake - Leh - Sarchu - Jispa - Manali - Shimla - Delhi
Day 1 Arrive Delhi
Traditional welcome on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 Delhi - Leh (flight)
Early morning, we will transfer you to Delhi's domestic terminal to catch an early morning flight to Leh. On arrival at Leh airport in the state of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) which lies on the west of Srinagar & Kashmir region within the same state. You will be met by our representative and transferred to hotel.
Breakfast at hotel. Relax for few hours in the hotel to acclimatize to high altitude. By early afternoon, we have organised a guided city tour of Leh to visit Spituk and Phyang Monasteries by jeeps. Later visit the Kings Palace, Leh mosque, Leh Gompa and the bazaar.
Day 3 Leh - Khardongla Pass - Leh (85 kms)
After breakfast full day excursion to Khardongla pass which is the highest motorable pass in the world 5600 mtrs and has been recorded in the Gunnies Book of world records.
Day 4 Leh - Pangong Lake (140 kms)
Depart Leh early in the morning to enjoy a lovely drive to Pangong Lake through Changla pass 5486 mtrs. After crossing the pass halt for picnic lunch at Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of the yaks. We stay overnight in Pangong Lake.
Day 5 Pangong Lake - Leh
We visit the 'Pangong Tso' - Tibetan for long, narrow enchanted lake or Pangong Lake - situated at a height of about 4,350 mts (14,270 ft). It is 134 km (83 mi) long and extends from India to Tibet. Approximately 60% of the length of the lake lies in Tibet. The lake is 5 km (3.1 mi) wide at its broadest point. All together it covers 604 sq. km. During winter the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water. An inner line permit will be arranged to visit the same as it lies on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) of Sino-India.
Afternoon we drive back 5 hrs to Leh for an overnight stay.
Day 6 Leh - Sarchu (250 kms)
Today drive to southwards to Sarchu which is on the borderline between Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh via Upshi and we will cross second highest motorable pass in world (Taglangla Pass 5350 mtrs). Drive through More plans there are chance to see tiny colonies of Marmots, Yaks & Herbs. At Pang we stop for lunch, continue drive to Lachungla pass 5065 mtrs. arrive Sarchu. Tonight our camp will be at 4200 mtrs. and will be the coldest night during the whole tour. Overnight in tents
Day 7 Sarchu - Jispa - Manali (258 kms)
Sarchu is the borderline between Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. After 20 kms drive we enter into Himachal Pradesh and reach Baralachala pass 4883 Mtrs. Visit lake Surajtal and proceed onto Darcha after Rumtze. Drive to Khoksar where we stop at checkpoint.
Ascend the Rohtang pass 3978 mtrs which offers a panoramic and spectacular mountain view. There is a beautiful sight of glaciers, peaks and Chandra River flows down in the Lahaul valley. Slightly to the left are the twin peaks of the Geypan. Enjoy the day on the snow peak, visit Beas Kund the originated point of River Beas. Enroute you can take a halt at 'Kothi', a cold, windy and picturesque spot amidst alpine meadows from where you can capture phenomenal views of river Beas which comes roaring down through a deep gorge.
Another 30 kms drive will take you to Manali. On arrival at Manali transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 8 Manali
We enjoy a guided city tour in Manali to visit a 400 years old Pagoda Temple of Hadimba Devi and old Manali to see the Manu temple. Afternoon one can visit to the Vaishisht hot sulphur spring bath. Overnight at hotel.
Day 9 Manali - Shimla (270 kms)
Morning drive down the lovely hilly roads to reach the former summer capital of the British - Shimla (or earlier pronounced as Simla). It's a beautiful hill station which draws people from plains as far as Delhi and from similar radius for it's pristine and characteristic feel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 Shimla
Day free at leisure to enjoy the fabulous strolling experience on the mall road, the church, the town hall or indulge in a short toy train ride from Shimla station to Summer Hill and back. Overnight at hotel.
